Abstract

It was evaluated the effectively of four herbicides on brush control in grasslands. The herbicides were picloram + 2,4-D amina; dicamba 2,4,5-T and 2,4-D + 2,4,5-T (50:50) and doses of 1 and 2%. The applications were directed to the foliar area. The experimental design was a randomized complete block design with three replications. Each plot measured 25 sq mt and evaluations were made per unit of area 62 days after the applications of the herbicides. Acacia spp, Heliconia humilis and Hibicus tilaceum were tolerant to the four herbicides. The best treatments were 2,4-D + 2,4,5-T at 2% (96.7%); 2,4,5-T at 1% (91.7%); picloram + 2,4-D amina at 1% (91.5%) and at 2% (89.6%) at though they were not significant among them (p>0.01). Only dicamba at 1% was similar to the control (p>0.01). The economic analysis showed that 2,4,5-T at 1% and picloram + 2,4-D amina at 1% were the cheapest.
