ANALYSIS OF THE PRECIPITATION IN THREE AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH STATIONS.
Abstract
In three IDIAP's Agricultural Research Stations a precipitation (pp) and rain days analysis was made. It was found difference in pp and rain days in all of them. The area of Guarumal Experimental Station presented more pp than Calabacito and Rio Hato. The pp and rain days curves had the same tendencies in the entire Pacific littoral. This climatic differentation must be used for crop selection, planting time and the use the agricultural insurance. The data were manually registered and tabulated to determine total, daily, monthly and annual rain; rain days; rain and rain days probabilities per month. For monthly rains and rain days probabilities, a range was established. These permited to group in percent base, different probabilities classes of rain days ocurrence or mm of pp per month. After the ranges were established, all the years were sum in every each range and were divided by total analyzed years and multiplied per 100 to determine the occurrence probabilities of the events. The standard deviation (SD) and the coefficient of variation (CV) were determining how far is the data from the middle and the variability of the data with respect to this.
